The community garden in Haiti produces rich, vitamin packed vegetables, which now sprawl out over land that was once nutrient deprived. Because of the skills they’ve learned and the resources they have been given, Haitians can now plant and harvest crops and put food on their table. Happy Earth Day!

In the six years since the cataclysmic 7.0-magnitude earthquake rocked Haiti, killing somewhere between 230,000 and 316,000 people and destroying much of the country’s infrastructure, the country has faced a long, uphill road to recovery. Today, the country is in many ways still reeling from the tragedy, but despite many ongoing challenges, the resiliency of its people shines on.
