Quote:
Why MI Americas is here:
In Mexico City (CDMX), Mexico, we support a program aimed at supporting HIV-infected mothers and their unborn children from potential infection during pregnancy. Transmission is most dangerous during pregnancy and in the first two years of the child’s life. In addition to medication, we provide baby formula, powdered milk for the family, and nutritious groceries, and income-generating support and psychosocial care for mothers.
How We Help:
- Between January-September 2020:
- 59 mothers have been enrolled in the program
- 462 doses of baby formula distributed
- 5472 Liconsa milk bags distributed
- 7,400kgs worth of groceries delivered
- Covid-19 adaptation:
- Safety protocols during deliveries
- Hand-sanitizer distribution
- Massive social media awareness campaign
