Since the earthquake in Haiti in 2010, we have worked alongside vulnerable children families in the most devastated of communities to help them achieve better lives and healthier futures. If Hurricane Irma remains on the same path, it is expected to be near the Dominican Republic's and Haiti's northern coasts on Thursday or Friday.

Hurricane Irma is one of the strongest storms ever recorded in the Atlantic. The core of the storm has been reported to have maximum sustained winds of 185 mph -- well above the 157 mph threshold of a Category 5 Hurricane.

We are monitoring the storm's path with a keen eye and we already have staff on the ground to mobilize relief efforts should Haiti and its most vulnerable need our help.
