California Wildfire Updates
Three weeks after the wildfires began, communities in Los Angeles County are reeling from the devastation of losing their homes, belongings, and livelihoods. As of January 30, the Eaton, Hughes, and Palisades fires have been nearly contained:
- Palisades Fire: 97% contained, burned over 23,400 acres, 12 confirmed deaths.
- Eaton Fire: 99% contained, burned over 14,000 acres, 17 confirmed fatalities.
- Hughes Fire: 98% contained, scorched over 10,400 acres.
All evacuation orders have been lifted, though some areas in Palisades still require proof of residency to return. Residents and officials are working to rebuild while bracing for new threats, including possible landslides due to heavy rain.
In collaboration with The Order of Malta Western Association, our local partners are working around the clock to identify the hardest-hit communities and deliver essential relief where it’s needed most.
