Celebrating #GlobalHandwashing Day With Indigenous Communities in Colombia
Today, we’re celebrating #GlobalHandwashingDay with the indigenous communities of Riohacha! This year more than ever, we’re promoting proper hand-washing as a primary tool for the prevention of diseases and infections.
We have programmed a series of activities in the communities promoting the use of our hand washing kits and safe water storage recipients to stimulate good hygiene practices. To date, we have delivered 1,300 kits that have benefited 5,169 people.
We also announced, along with 12 organizations and local entities, that we are joining the Regional Committee of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene of La Guajira, to carry out activities that promote the practice of hand washing within the framework of the new inititiative: «Washing hands saves lives in La Guajira ».
