While the attention of the world has been fixed on the ongoing crisis in the Middle East, another crisis has been quietly developing in Africa. Millions of people across swathes of the continent are now either in the grip of famine, or severely threatened by hunger. As almost always, children, the old, and the sick, are among the worst affected. Malteser International Americas supports the global efforts by Malteser International to provide relief for some of the most vulnerable and severely-affected people in Kenya and South Sudan, but international relief efforts need to be urgently stepped up.
