For Wayuu Indigenous Women, Weaving Goes Beyond Art
October 29, 2024
Weaving, for Wayuu indigenous women, goes beyond art – it is an integral part of their life and culture. In the Alewa Los Monos community, each stitch represents a story, a family, an experience. From the young women to their elders, they shared with us what this ancient art form means to them and how they were inspired by the hummingbird for their new collection.
