Introducing Executive Director Margi English
MI Americas is delighted to welcome Margi English as our new Executive Director. Ms. English comes to Malteser International Americas from a career as Executive Director of St. Vincent de Paul Society of San Francisco with her work focusing substantially on homelessness. She has worked in both private sector and nonprofit organizations. She was invested into the Western Association of the Order of Malta in 2022.
Ms. English started her career in nonprofit fund development as Executive Director of Development and Communications for Santa Clara University’s Jesuit School of Theology. Margi went on to serve as Executive Director for the St. Vincent de Paul Society of San Francisco which manages the largest single adult homeless shelters in Northern California.
She has served as Chief Development Officer for both Hamilton Families and Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco and is well-versed in issues related to housing, shelter, and workforce development. She was appointed by the San Francisco Commission on the Status of Women to the Equal Pay Advisory Board and served on the San Francisco Interfaith Essential Housing Task Force in partnership with the Mayor’s Office.
Ms. English is a graduate of the Stanford Graduate School of Business Executive Program for Nonprofit Leaders and received a B.S. degree in Organizational Behavior and Leadership from the University of San Francisco. She holds current CFRE, PHR, and PMP certifications.
