Meeting families who received our aid in Colombia
July 28, 2017
In October 2016, before Hurricane Matthew made landfall in Haiti, it hovered over the northern coast of Colombia, dropping torrential rains and causing widespread flooding. The primary damage was to homes and infrastructure, as the rivers in the coastal provinces of Magdalena, Bolivar, Atlantico, La Guajira and Sucre overflowed their banks, where we have programs.
This week, MI Americas Executive Director, Ravi Tripptrap, and MI Americas Board Member, Ed Delaney, met with some of the families who benefited from our aid for clean-up, and received mattresses and some of the 200 hygiene kits we distributed in the aftermath.
