Malteser International Americas is thrilled to announce two valuable additions to our Board of Directors:  Wayne T. Ruth, KMOb and Paul L. Herndon, KM.

 

Paul L. Herndon is a business partner with Riprand Graf Arco and joined American Asset Corporation in 1994. Mr. Herndon and Graf Arco have worked together to build a full-service development, construction, leasing and property management company which has been responsible for some of the largest mixed-use projects in the southeast, such as the 2,000 acre Brier Creek project in Raleigh, NC and the 500 acre Bryton project in Charlotte, NC.

Before joining American Asset Corporation, Mr. Herndon served as vice president of asset and property management for Eberhardt Commercial Real Estate in Minneapolis, MN. Prior to Eberhardt, Mr. Herndon worked at the St. Paul Port Authority which is an organization focused using revenue agreements and revenue bonds to create development districts, build public infrastructure, acquire land for lease, sale or development primarily in the city of St. Paul, MN. Mr. Herndon started his professional career as a C.P.A. for Ernst & Whinney where his focus was on commercial real estate investment and development.

In 2016, Mr. Herndon became a member of the Order of Malta, Federal Association and in 2018 was appointed to the diplomatic staff of the Sovereign Order of Malta’s Embassy to Haiti and currently serving in the position of Counselor to the SMOM Ambassador to Haiti. Mr. Herndon was a member of the Board of Trustees of Belmont Abbey College from 2009-2015 and he currently serves on the boards of various private trusts as well as providing advisory serves to various trusts.

Mr. Herndon lives in Charlotte, NC with his wife Kari, they have been married 35 years and have two sons William and Nathaniel.

 

Wayne T. Ruth was born in Baltimore, has two children, and attended the University of Maryland. In 1993, he formed Masonry Solutions  International, Inc. He was Invested in the Order of Malta in 1998, Promise of Knight of Obedience, 2017 and became a member of the Federal Association Board of Directors in 2017.

He volunteers with the Our Lady of Lourdes Hospitality North American Volunteers and has completed over 50  Lourdes pilgrimages. He has also collaborated on virtual Lourdes tours and attended Our Lady of Help pilgrimages. He is an active volunteer with local efforts, including with My Sister’s Place and Sarah’s Hope meal outreach, and the Missionaries of Charity Gift of Hope hospice.

Formerly, he was national president of the American Subcontractors Association, and the former president of the Baltimore Building Congress and Exchange. He was also the chairman of the Basilica of the Assumption Historic Trust. He is also a member of various trade and historic preservation associations.
