Milagros’ future remains at risk.  She, like many children in Colombia, lives with the consequences of malnutrition. Her growth and development have been affected.

The number of children experiencing food insecurity and malnutrition is on the rise. In the rural communities of northern Colombia, both migrants and locals face significant barriers to accessing healthcare. We are working to address this humanitarian crisis in vulnerable regions like La Guajira, where Milagros and her family turned to us for help.

Through both mobile and fixed clinics, we provide essential health, mental health, and nutritional services, including primary care consultations, maternal health monitoring, and specialized treatment for children under five—the most vulnerable to malnutrition.

Thanks to this care, Milagros is gradually regaining her strength and the joyful energy of a toddler. However, many other children remain at risk, unable to recover without proper treatment.

El futuro de Milagros sigue en riesgo. Como muchos niños en Colombia, ella vive con los efectos de la desnutrición. Su crecimiento y desarrollo cognitivo se han visto afectados.

El número de niños que enfrentan inseguridad alimentaria y sufren de desnutrición está aumentando. En las comunidades rurales empobrecidas del norte de Colombia, muchos migrantes y locales vulnerables tienen dificultades para acceder al sistema de salud. Estamos abordando esta crisis humanitaria en regiones vulnerables como La Guajira,

donde Milagros y su familia acudieron a nosotros en busca de ayuda. Tanto las clínicas móviles como las fijas brindan una variedad de servicios de salud, salud mental y nutrición. Estos incluyen consultas de salud primaria, monitoreo y tratamiento de mujeres embarazadas y niños menores de 5 años, quienes son los más vulnerables.

Milagros está recuperando gradualmente su peso y recobrando la energía propia de una niña pequeña. Desafortunadamente, muchos otros niños no pueden recuperarse sin acceso a un tratamiento adecuado.
