MI Americas Welcomes Three Members to Board of Directors
Welcome New Board Members
We are delighted to announce the addition of three new members to the Malteser International Americas Board of Directors. Their expertise and strategic insight, drawn from a broad spectrum of industries, will be instrumental in shaping the future of the organization. We are confident that their leadership will drive the organization toward new milestones of impact and success.

Georg Khevenhüller, KHD
Joining MI Americas on January 1, 2025, Georg Khevenhüller, born and raised in Spain, studied business administration and marketing in Vienna. He worked in finance in Austria and Venezuela. After serving as the managing director of a building materials manufacturer in Germany, Mr. Khevenhüller acquired the company in 2001 through a management buyout. After developing and expanding the business, he sold it in 2007. From 2004 to 2012, Mr. Khevenhüller served as the diocesan director for the Maltesers in Limburg. From 2008 to 2012, he was Vice President of Malteser Hilfsdienst. Since 2016, he has been a member of the executive board as a representative of the German Association. In 2018, he was elected President of Malteser Hilfsdienst with this to say: “I want to lead our relief service into the future and overcome the challenges that we face in society and politics together with all Malteser.”
HE Ambassador Lupo del Bono, KM
Joining MI Americas on August 19, 2024, HE Ambassador Lupo del Bono, KM is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and family man. Born in Milan, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Babson College in 1979. Amb. del Bono worked in various management positions in the insurance and financial sector. He is passionate about education, service to the community, and aid to the most needy. His focus on philanthropy led him to become a founding member of both the Gabriel Sherover Foundation in Jerusalem and the Foundation for Human Prosperity in Amsterdam. After moving to Panama in 2012, Amb. del Bono joined the Panamanian Association of the Order of Malta, as Knight of Grace and Devotion, and in 2017 was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Panama.
Ernest P. Bono Sr., GCMOb
Joining MI Americas on February 20, 2025, Ernie Bono, GCMOb is an author and motivational speaker with over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. Ernie holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Cheyney State University and received his Chartered Life Underwriters Degree from American University. He has worked with Prudential Insurance in various roles, including the role of Vice President. Following his retirement as Managing Director of Prudential Select in 1995, Ernie has devoted his time to family, friends, and church ministry. For the past 5 years, he has traveled the country speaking to various conferences and parishes on a variety of topics, including stewardship and the balanced Catholic life. Currently, he is the President of Order of Malta Federal Association Board of Directors.

Their time on our board of directors has been a true reflection of the Sovereign Order of Malta’s mission, and we are immensely grateful for the countless ways they have shared their gifts to help guide and strengthen this mission.
