A potential for great relief and charity after Hurricane Irma
As a disaster relief agency, day in and day out, we dedicate ourselves to helping the most vulnerable people in the Americas and all over the world during disasters and crisis. After Hurricane Harvey made landfall, we turned to our own shores to help families in Texas. Their ongoing recovery will be extensive and Malteser International Americas will be there when others leave.
Now, another storm is about to hit our shores, which has the potential to impact even more lives catastrophically.
Hurricane Irma is one of the most powerful storms ever recorded in the Atlantic and the resulting devastation that vulnerable families could incur is heart-breaking. There is potentially a great need for charity to help the children and families in its destructive path, and Malteser International will answer the call for help, if needed.
Our plea to you is to take every step to remain safe. If you are in Irma's path, we continue to urge all families to heed hurricane warnings and evacuations in advance of the storm making landfall. If you haven't already, please follow Hurricane Preparedness measures. Every person should know what to do before, during, and after a hurricane, and not take Hurricane Irma lightly. Share with family, friends and loved ones in its path.
If you have given generously to our Hurricane Harvey relief efforts, WE THANK YOU again. If you still have it in your heart to donate to relief efforts in Texas or potential hurricane relief efforts in the U.S., Haiti, and other countries, you can support our recovery efforts today.
