Since after the deadly Haiti earthquake in 2010, we've been on-the-ground in Haiti providing relief and aid to the children and families who need help picking up the pieces of their lives and rebuilding their communities to be stronger, healthier, and more resilient.

Together, we've helped them to recover, rebuild, and live healthy lives with dignity, but Haiti is one of the most poverty-stricken countries in the Western Hemisphere. Natural disasters, like drought and hurricanes, continue to devastate the country. Coupled with a malnourished population, political turmoil, the dire effects of climate change, and ongoing violence, the people of Haiti continue to suffer. Still, they are resilient people and their beauty shines.

In Cité Soleil, an urban slum of Haiti's capitol, Port-au-Prince, Cassius Ulrich works on a water committee, raising awareness about the critical nature of clean, drinkable water, and hygiene and health issues. His outreach contributes to better living conditions for his family and the entire local population.

Watch the video above to learn more about Cassius, his story, and the community in Haiti in which he lives.
