We will help the most vulnerable in Rockport find relief after Harvey
Aransas County in Texas was hardest by the Hurricane Harvey, as it took a direct hit from the storm’s eye wall. Many structures, residences, and businesses in and near Rockport, Texas were damaged or destroyed. Roofs were blown off homes and buildings, and walls collapsed. The most vulnerable in the region who were struggling and at-risk before the storm are hurting even greater in its wake.
To ease the distress and suffering of the most critically affected by the disaster, Malteser International Americas is working in partnership with the local St. Vincent de Paul Society, to fill severe gaps in relief in the county. While much of the relief has been in the Houston area, there are children and families, and the poor and the sick, who need help in Aransas County.
